Boston Marathon Finisher!

So I am alive and moving quite well today.  My race wasn't exactly what I pictured my first Boston Marathon to be, but I enjoyed every bit of it that I could.  The weather was obviously less than ideal so instead of pushing my body to its limits, I decided to soak the experience in.  I will have a more detailed report later this week, but I wanted to update you all right away.

My time was 4:29, my 4th slowest marathon, but it was the hardest one to date.  Thank you all so much for your support yesterday.  It was so nice FINALLY getting back to my phone and having all the messages.

I asked my husband if he would mind if I wore my medal to bed last night because I am pretty darn proud of it.  That tiny little thing is what pushed me to finish a race I didn't think I had in me.  Now I am finally wearing the finisher shirt I have been staring at people wearing for years.  I am a Boston Marathoner.

also, I saw that you wore the mesh racerback in your race! I would love to know more about it, like if it was completely see through, and if it has stretch. Also, which shoes did you end up wearing? I am a new follower now!

I loved the Brooks mesh racerback. It wasn't completely see through, but very thin so you can see your bra through it. I felt REALLY cool out there and I will never have the need to wear just a sports bra now that I found it. I hate tanks that get heavy when you sweat and I was not soaked the whole time with it. It is stretchy and fits very loosely. I would normally wear a size large tank, but wear the medium in this tank. And I went with my Launches for the race. I have been training in the Ghosts, which I love, but the bottoms of my feet would get sore at the end of long runs so I stuck with what I knew would make it through the race. And thanks for following!

Sooooooo happy for U Robin!!!!!!! Congratulations! :) I can't imagine what you and the rest of the marathoners went through yesterday. Very impressive 4:29 for sure! I kissed my Boston medal when they place it over my neck last year. No joke, it wasn't the weather for me, but, the lack of training, and I can truly say I know how much that medal means!!! 100%

It was a tough day! But we did it! To go across the finish line with a smile and on our own two legs is a big benefit! I'm going to post later. But, I had a PW of 4:30. However, in my book, it was the BEST day because I soaked in every single step and greeted those crowds with a smile! Congratulations my friend!

Way to go Robin! You totally earned that medal and that shirt, and I think they should give you a jacket too! ;)

Ahhhhh! I'm still walking around with a crazy smile on my face! Congrats to you! I know exactly how you feel - I wore my jacket out last night despite it being 80 degrees!

So good to bump into you afterwards. I hope our paths cross again!

I'm bummed that I didn't get to see you! Congratulations on the finish, it was a big day for sure!!! I am also proud of my medal, even though, I too finished in one of my slower times. Wasn't the crowd support amazing?!?! I was completely blown away! Boston Marathon definitely lived up to its reputation!! Congratulations again, hopefully we will run into each other soon!!

Congrats on finishing! Be proud :) It was so tough out there, I have run 18 marathons and this was by far the toughest for me. I finshed pretty close before you, might have even seen you out on the course soaking in the hot sun!
