So very tired

I can not believe how tired I am today. This morning was my nephew, Evan's kindergarten graduation. His school is about 40 minutes away from my house in no traffic, so I had to get up early to get my 9 mile run in, get the kids ready, and head to Worcester, Massachusetts.



The 9 mile run was tough. It was a General Aerobic run with 10x100m strides at the end. Normally, this would be easy, but today I am dragging. I keep reminding myself on my runs that if I feel good, then I am not working hard enough. As long as I can hit my runs then I know I am doing something right.

Tomorrow, I have 14 on the schedule. I think I am headed to the rail trail. The hills these past few runs have been killing me. I love running hills but the added mileage isn't making the hills as easy as they used to be.

Next week I will be running my annual 4th of July Race. I am getting excited. I am going to work on tweaking my schedule for next week so that I am semi-rested for the race so that I can pull out a PR hopefully.

What time to do you get up and get out the door to do these runs during the week? What time does DH have to be to work?? I don't know how you do it girl!

What's the distance for the 4th of July race?

My husband doesn't have to leave for work until 9:40 so I usually just count back from there for when I need to be on the road. For 14 miles, I will leave the house by 6:45 to get to the trail, but for 8-11 mile runs, I can usually get away with 7:30. So not bad at all.

4th of July is a 5 mile race. It has a terrible hill so it is a challenge. Last year was my 2nd year and I dropped 10 minutes off my previous year. This year, I am hoping for about a minute. :)

Wow, that's great that you've got so much time in the morning. My husband usually leaves between 8 and 9, and that typically gives me plenty of time for my morning work out. Kids certainly make juggling work and work outs interesting!
