So it is a week later and my leg is much better. I ran by the house yesterday where the dogs came flying out of the driveway and the damn dog who bit me was caged up in the yard. So the guy who claimed he didn't have another dog to the animal control, obviously has another dog and is hiding it from Animal Control. So needless to say I am going to contact Animal Control, but seeing as the dog would need to go into quarantine for 10 days before they can determine I am done with the shots, I have to continue the shots. I had a shot this afternoon and now I am the lucky one who has to find a hospital in Orlando who has the rabies shot available. Next Sunday I get to wake up early, run a half marathon, run to the hospital, and then hopefully enjoy the day with my kids at Disney. Thank you stupid man and your stupid dog for infringing on my vacation.
But on a good note, I just finished a 50 mile week and felt very strong up until the last mile. I ran my long run yesterday because of the snow we were supposed to get. That was a toughie seeing as I had just ran 17 on Sunday and turned around 6 days later and ran 18, for a total of 60 miles in 7 days. I can definitely say I have never done that many miles in 7 days before. But today I completed my 50 mile week with 7 miles at the gym and my legs felt surprisingly strong. My arms and abs were very sore though when I was trying to do my push-ups. That fact made me proud as I was really trying to use my core muscles on my run when my legs were killing me and apparently I did it correctly. Oh, I love marathon training......Breaking distance PR's is so fun and all the earned calories is even better!
