The Guy Up There

So my husband and I have differing opinions on religion, but we have come to an understanding on the issue when dealing with our girls. I am Catholic and still have many Catholic beliefs. He does not believe in religion at all, he thinks it is all crazy. We baptized our girls Catholic, but have decided to wait on teaching them anything until they are older and can understand things and make up their mind on their own. This does not exactly sit well with my family, but I want things to sit well with us, so I don't fight it.

So yesterday, my 3 year old, Bridget, was upstairs at my mom's house, chatting away by herself. I thought she was pretending she was on Skype, as my mom's exchange student does every day. She was laughing and talking for a good 10-15 minutes. She came downstairs, and I asked her who she was talking to and she told me "The Guy Up There." I was like, "Excuse me?". And she repeated "The Guy Up There." Now my sister is pretty religious and Bridget is close with her son, which is where her new teachings have come from. Earlier the two monsters locked themselves in the closet, and I think they were talking to The Guy, in order to get them out of their predicament.

My husband got a kick out of hearing about Bridget's conversation and for now we are letting her talk to The Guy when she wants to, but still not telling her what we think as we don't want to confuse her. I guess her teachings will come from a 5 year old from now on and she can interpret them in her own way.
